Scientist Position: The Analytical Science department is comprised of world-class PhDs and analysts from a variety of disciplines such as statistics, econometrics and math. We are problem solvers on the cutting edge of technology, using advanced modeling and optimization techniques from Bayesian forecasting to non-linear curve fittings. Our solutions run on a robust data analysis platform, employing algorithms to accurately configure complex demand models of retail merchandise behavior.We have recently setup analytical science group for oracle retail at Bangalore in India.

Scientist Responsibilities: Understand and contribute to the problem definition and hypothesis formulation of client situationsCommunicate with clients as needed to verify/define data and review analytical findingsAnalyze data for trends and relationshipsFormulate and refine hypothesisDeliver results to the Oracle Retail team and support formal presentation of results to clients

Desired Profile:
Scientist Qualifications:Mathematically literate with a PhD in econometrics, operations research, mathematics, economics, statistics, or a related field.Consistantly outstanding acdemic record from top tier institutes.1-2 years of very recent experience in data mining / data analysis involving large amount of transactional databases in demand forecasting, revenue optimization preferably in retail, airlines, supply-chain domains is highly desirable.Computer literate and proficient with relational database and spreadsheetsExperience with statistical software (SAS, Splus/R or Statistica) and large quantitative datasets is a plusKnowledge of SQL and Visual Basic is desirableExcellent written, verbal communications and analytical skills as scientists are expected to create and deliver concise, logical presentations and must be able to handle client contactThe ability to take on significant responsibility quickly is a must for this positionFRESHERS WHO DONOT HAVE A PhD Degree DO NAOT APPLY FOR THIS POSITION.
